If you like weird stuff, and classic Americana, check out the Crosstar Flag and Tag Museum of Afton, Oklahoma.
The museum sits in the Route 66-facing backyard of Al Childs and features classic automobiles, gas pumps, roadside statues and signs, and there’s even a robot, an alien, the Blues Brothers, Elvis, and some unique horror displays. It’s open-air, free to the public, and unlike most other stops, there’s nothing for sale.
If you’re traveling Route 66 this summer, it’s a great place to get out, stretch your legs. And see some interesting sights.
