Hi, I'm David, a photographer and visual storyteller based in Northern Illinois. I love to capture natural landscapes, the architecture, Americana, and scenes of everyday life in small rural towns, and the lived-in environments of the American Midwest. I am drawn toward the subtle stories and rugged beauty of its streets, buildings, objects, and people. I am also adept at events and portraiture. My passion is to create images that provoke reflection, convey beauty, and encourage viewers to see familiar places in a new light.

My love for photography springs from a broader need for creative expression alongside playing music, writing, and drawing. More than a creative outlet, photography is personal therapy for me. Being in the moment - exploring, seeing, feeling, connecting, framing, capturing the moment, and later shaping the images in post - creates an inner calm and ignites my creativity. I value the joy I find while making pictures — whether it’s a few minutes with something that catches my eye or an extended outing.

I was born, raised, and currently live in Northern Illinois with my wife and three daughters.
