Back to Southern Illinois and Route 66
I'm heading back to Southern Illinois and Route 66this week!
I wrapped up my Route 66 road trip in June a little early. By the time I made it from Sapulpa, OK to Elkhart, IL (pictured), I was feeling homesick, and I just wanted to see my family. I decided to head home early rather than continuing to Chicago, but I promised myself I’d make it back to finish the Illinois leg of the route before end of summer.
This week I’m keeping that promise. I’ll be heading south to Carterville to visit family, and then trekking back home on Route 66. Looking forward to getting on the road again!
